NASA is reported the first successful tests of the Deep Space Network. The earth’s network was used as a model. They used (instead of TCP/IP) the interplanetary communication network which uses DTN (Disruption-Tolerant Networking).(Via TechGlance http://twitter.com/TechGlance)
