Seo “Snake oil” refers to the bogus, misleading or fraudulent statements, “facts” and rumours spread in the SEO world. Traditionally “snake oil” refers to the bogus medicines sold by travelling doctors back in the day. SEO is not an exact science, so some either like to take advantage of that or don’t know any better and see something and sound the alarms. This inevitably gets picked up by the more gullible and before you know it Google no longer bothers with text on page.
There’s been mention of this all over the place this week and rather than write a whole post about it, I thought I would demonstrate using a piece of YouTube what the process looks like. Kudos to Angie for picking it out.
Bah, humbug…but it sure looks like a lot of fun
